What is Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese healing method that focuses intention on restoring optimal balance of health. Reiki practice holds a view that healing emanates from within a wellspring of life source energy, not from without. The practice of Reiki is based on tapping into the power of this life source energy through a meditative process.
Weak life source energy flow invites illness. A Reiki session replenishes and amplifies life source energy that may have been depleted for any number of reasons. As a facilitator of Reiki healing, the practitioner is trained and practiced to connect with and open the recipient’s own pathways of energy flow. This amplified energy naturally finds its own unique level of optimal balance of all body systems, creating optimal health.
The Reiki practitioner does not direct energy but acts as facilitator, releasing and amplifying the recipient’s own flow of life source energy, while holding conscious intent for optimal health. Through this meditative process, stagnant energy is activated to freely flow and re-energize the body’s systems. Animals are particularly sensitive and receptive to this energy and are in sole control of its intake.
Today Reiki is requested and practiced in an increasing number of hospitals and medical care settings. It is a proven powerful method that compliments both conventional and alternative therapies.
